ACCOR's Pullman Phuket Ready For November Launch
Global French hotel chain ACCOR will see the 277 key Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach open this coming November.
I was able to catch up with General Manager Brett Wilson today to talk about the first international chain to open a property on Naithon Beach.
Brett said that comments from wholesalers and the industry was extremely positive as they are viewing the West Coast location as something new for the market.
With interior designs by leading Thai creative resource P49, one of the top products are 7 one and two bedroom private pool villas.
Certainly the aim of the property is to tap into both a broad base but also use its extensive conference and meeting facilities to attract the MICE market. The ballroom can accommodate up to 250 people.
Surprising was feedback from a recent job fair, that while Phuket remains challenged in terms of labor shortage, staff were being attracted to the location due to the proximity of their own homes.
This is certainly a growing phenomenon on the island which is now become more of an urban landscape – work nearer to home.
Brett who previously worked with the Anantara hotel group and was a longtime IHG staffer, said that locals in Naithon are already excited about the opening.
Things on the upper West Coast of Phuket look to be swinging up with the planned reopening of the Laguna Beach Resort later this year and Minor's takeover of Bundarika on Layan Beach.
Though InterContinental Hotels Group branded Indigo resort has yet to break ground in Naithon.
