Apple's Inch By Inch

The say that football is a game of inches, but what about in the world of smartphones.
Since I made the bold brave move from my longtime addition to a BB (BlackBerry) to an Apple 5S my friends have become increasingly alarmed.
Illegible messages hacked out on my gigantic fingers on an all too small iPhone typically illicit responses ranging from "WTF, huh? Or else – Are you drunk?"
Good news on the horizon has a new larger upsized iPhone coming in early September but what the hell am I going to do with my expensive 5S?
I guess I've bought the ticket so have to take the ride but will an inch or so in the new upsized model really make a difference?
