Bali Debates Tourist Tax

Category: Tourism, Posted:06 Nov 2013 | 06:00 am

According to news site Balidiscovery.com Indoneisia's popular resort island is looking at the possible option of a tax on tourists who enter by air and sea.
The underlying concern of the government is how to fund insurance coverage for foreign visitors who have accidents or else die in Bali.
This is a similar theme to Thailand's current push on a controversial visitor tax for foreigners which has been debated widely in the media.
Indonesia already has a visa on arrival fee and the additional incoming charge would be in the eyes of many double dipping.
