COMPLAINT FILE Long Lines – Endless High Season
Ramping up to peak season always gives me sweaty palms and the feeling of high anxiety.
Is it a heart attack coming or just mounting dread over perilous journey's ending and beginning in a mass of line standing at Phuket Immigration.
Yes, I've read the many press pieces as of late about promises of longer shifts for officers – reportedly up from 8 to 12 hours.
Or a stream of volunteers who are will be posted to aid passengers fill in paperwork. (I have yet to see any of these?).
I don't mean to be negative Hong Kong has long ago implemented snake queues which according to most efficiency experts cuts waiting time, why can't this be done here.
Or dedicated facilities for charter flights – that's one of the leading problems when massive hoards all descend at the same time.
No doubt I will continue to be a sucker for those headline crying out with false hope over modifications to a mounting negative for our tourism market, but most likely the mantra is bring a book, or maybe write a book next time you find yourself lost in transition.
