CULTURAL GOLF Luang Prabang Golf Course Opens

Category: Tourism, Posted:08 Apr 2011 | 06:00 am

Phuket is not alone in the virtual stampede of the raging bulls of mass tourism.
One of Asia's idyllic cultural destination's Luang Prabang in Laos has been caught up in the slipstream of development.
The Korean developed 18 hole Luang Prabang Golf Club has opened.

As a new phase of development are villas aimed at overseas property buyers and a hotel.
Meanwhile thephuketinsider recently visited LP and found construction progress on the new airport and longer runaway which will be able to accommodate widebody jet aircraft in full swing.
The new airport is planned to open by 2013, which will be followed by a high-speed train service to China in 2014.
Expect the destination with its UNESCO mandated cultural agenda to dramatically change over the next few years be it good, bad or indifferent – depending on your point of view.
One thing for certain is that short haul mass tourism is hitting all of Asia for the next decade.
