Delayed Phuket Airport Renovation Amped Up

Category: Tourism, Posted:23 Sep 2014 | 06:00 am

According to the Bangkok Post, news from the Airports of Thailand (AoT) is that the delayed upgrade of the Phuket International Airport will only see completion in July 2015.
Working hours are being expanded to nighttime to push forward progress.
Rain and weather issues are being blamed as the reasons behind the lagging work.
The update is not good for the coming high-season in Phuket when surging tourism arrivals are expected to create considerable traffic woes.
AoT who are overseeing the upgrading of Bangkok's second airport Don Mueang are expected work to be completed in next year as well.
