EXCLUSIVE Mangosteen Resort Brands To Golden Tulip Chain

Phuket's hotel market now has its latest entry into the global hotel chain arena with the branding of Rawai's 41 key boutique Golden Tulip Mangosteen Resort and Spa. The long established European hotel chain Golden Tulip made headline news in the middle of this year when the US Starwood Capital Group acquired the brand which has 260 hotels, and 26,000 rooms in 45 countries.
Heading up development in Asia for the chain is a familiar name to many on the island Mark van Ogtrop who worked for many years as General Manger of Dusit Laguna Hotel. Golden Tulip plan to have 5 hotels under management in Thailand by 2010.
