Category: Tourism, Posted:18 Dec 2009 | 07:15 am

After numerous attempts by the Government to salvage the failed Thailand Elite Card, Finance Minister Korn has announced Government approval for the program sale. Reportedly the process will take 30 days and expectations to transact over THB 2 billion.
Local and foreign investment firms have been invited to bid, despite the company which has operated at a loss since 2003. For those who have already purchased membership, spokesmen have clarified that privileges will be ongoing and not withdrawn. In the case of a unsuccessful bid process the company will revert to TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand).
