Free World Cup For Thai Viewers
Back of the current spate of reforms by Thailand's military junta, the latest move will see free viewing for all of the upcoming World Cup matches on public television.
In a "win their hearts and minds" campaign the initiative comes on the heels of a dispute over broadcast rights by concessionaire RS Plc. who will be showing the World Cup on pay television.
A deal that came after court action has been brokered with the junta paying compensation to RS, so all of the country will now be able to watch the much-anticipated event.
In Thailand, the current mood seems to be all about generating as much happiness as possible and for football fans, this certain is going to fit the bill.
