Government Restructures National Tourism Plan

The forward planning for the National Tourism Plan targeting 2012-2017 could see an overall of key components.
During the administration of deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra a direct authority was linked to DASTA (Designated Area for Sustainable Tourism Administration), Thailand's Convention and Exhibition Bureau and the Chiang Mai Night Safari.
Current lobbying is ongoing about the shirt for control to the Tourism Ministry with little interaction to the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand).
Fueling the discussion are differing views over a superstructure or else decentralized approach, though long term tourism stimulation projects are firmly on the agenda.
