One of my favorite hotel books remains the true story of Bob and Louise Koke who owned and operated the Kuta Beach Hotel in the 1930's.
Set in Bali it's a great read for anyone in the business and certainly takes you back to the early days of tourism in one of Asia's most important destinations.
Titled Our Hotel in Bali, it's a bittersweet read though, given the interruption of the regions tourism development by World War two.
If you like resort hotels and Asia stories this is a must read.
