Green Building Council Movement

So you've read the title and perhaps the most important quest is – Exactly what is a green building council?
To paraphrase these are non-government, non-profit organizations that fall under the World Green Building Council umbrella.
This is a global alliance promoting leadership in sustainability and green practices.
One good example is the leading design house Hassell who have an extensive presence in Asia Pacific (and Thailand).
They were the founding member of the council in Australia and a newly formed organization in China. But focusing on architects, planners and designers the movement is very much a grass roots level initiative.
