HOTEL WATCH Twelve at Hengshan

Opened late last year the residential styled urban hotel retreat Twelve at Hengshan in Shanghai already has a number of fans.
Here the 171 room property has fused traditional Chinese elements and western contemporary highlights.
Two key innovative minds attached to the project are Italian architect Mario Botta and interiors by the New York based team of Yabu Pushelberg.
The hotel exterior uses a stunning feature of over 20,000 terracotta tiles.
Management is by Starwood's Luxury Collection.
