Inside Malaysian Airlines Restructure
One of the Asian region's legacy carriers Malaysia Airlines has announced a critical massive restructuring.
The architect for the extreme makeover is Christian Mueller who is no stranger to airline reinvention.
His past CV includes similar appointments at Air Lingus and Belgium's Sabena Airlines.
The first move was to layoff over 6,000 staff at the money losing operation and is targeting a three year transition.
Part of the renewal process will be adding in 2,000 to 3,000 new staff in specialty posts.
There is also new talks of the disposition of two of the Airbus A380's from the sizable stable of aircraft.
Perhaps Thai Airways International needs to take a page out of the MAS playbook before they get too far down the road to ruin?
