Integrated Resorts Hit Jackpot

Category: Tourism, Posted:07 Sep 2010 | 06:00 am

Singapore's two new IR's (integrated resorts) have once again proven that casino's can be an instant success story.
Resorts World Senstosa posted 2nd quarter revenue of approximately USD$625 million. This dominoed as the hotels located within the destination resorts achieved average room rates close to USD190; and Universal Studios Singapore posting 8,000 daily visitors through the turnstiles.
Over at Marina Bay Stands estimated profits before tax during the initial 65 days of debuting creating a mind blowing USD94 million in profit.
Back of a recent trip I took to Resorts World, there were large numbers of Thai visitors who were on hand to shop, eat, drink and play the games of chance.
