InterContinental's Singapore Division

Category: Hotels, Posted:10 Oct 2014 | 06:00 am

One of Asia's top hospitality talking points is the recent announcement of a second InterContinental in Singapore.
The new property being redeveloped by RB Capital at Robinson Quay is the site of the Gallery hotel.
Incidentally RB are the owners of the Holiday inn Express Clarke Quay which opened early this year.
Talk on the town has speculation whether IHG are in danger of cannibalizing their own brand given the proximity to the other branded InterCon at Bugis junction.
Incidentally the latter is now controlled by Thailand's TCC.
What is clear is that in today's rapidly expanding hotel sector the battle over old versus new and location location location continues to be relevant.
