Koh Samui Gets Langham Branded Hotel
Growing Hong Kong based Langham Hotels is set to enter the Koh Samui market with a 77 villa and suite high end resort opening next month. The Langham Place Samui on Lamai Beach will include the signature Chinese influenced Chuan Spa. Speaking to Andrew Jessop who heads regional operations at the chain and was formerly a longtime Phuket hospitality leader at Laguna's Sheraton Grande he told us “the property is a fantastic entry into one of the region's most dynamic resort markets.”
Langham recently signed two Bangkok based projects with Thai listed firm Tanayong; and have a management agreement here in Phuket for a boutique project in Kalim that has not broken ground as of yet. Regional groups are fastly becoming competitive with larger international chains as many are cash rich from other core business activities and also have critical mass of existing hotels in key feeder market's to Asian gateways and destinations.
