Las Vegas Giant MGM Targets Asian Hotel Focus

Leading hospitality brands MGM Mirage are creating a larger Asian hotel focus with the appointment of industry veteran Michael Sagild in the role of MD Asia-Pacific Development.
Set to be based in Hong Kong, Sagild is a longtime player with senior roles at Hyatt International, Shangri-La, Century, Le Meridien and most recently Anantara/Minor International.
While gaming continues to be a major driver, there is considerable drive to see branded hotel properties in the region's major gateways and resort destinations going forward.
Coming high on the 'next big thing' radar is the mixed use Ho Tram Strip in Vietnam where a MGM hotel is currently in the works.
