Leading Internet Travel Booking Trends

Industry expert Peter Yesawich of Ypartnership recently spoke at the ISHC (International Society of Hospitality Consultants) Annual Conference on key online hospitality developments.
He cited the following key trends in the US –
A growing culture of consumer impatience. The web has bred a culture of instant gratification.
Based on consumer research carried out by his firm, 87% said either the lowest room rates or airfares topped the list of internet user motivating factors.
Meta search site such as Wego.com and Kayak.com which accessed multiple databases is a key innovation and growing. Over 20% of users tapped into this resource.
In North America the ongoing practice of trading down and reducing the length of stay is expected to continue through the year. Expectations are for 50% of leisure travel to take place on weekends.
