Malaysia Boosts Outbound Market

Data from PATA (Pacific asia Travel Association) shows the outbound travel from Malaysia has now put the country in the number two position within ASEAN.
Singapore remains in pole position. In terms of top choices is the neighboring countries of Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia who rank in the Top 5. Malaysian market share to Southeast Asian countries is 62%, which has dramatically been stimulated by leading low-cost airline carrier AirAsia.
PATA is forecasting double digit growth this year from Malaysia to New Zealand, South Korea, Myanmar and Maldives (though given the current political climate the last destination may see less volume.)
