MBK Buys Krabi Beach Resort

Thai listed firm MBK Public Company Limited has expanded its hospitality assets with the acquisition of the 50 key upscale Layana Resort and Spa.
Located on Krabi's Koh Lanta island the property has 44 rooms and 6 suites.
According to documents filed with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) payment for company shares in Lanta Land Development Co., Ltd. in the amount of THB 118,830,844 came due on April 5th, 2011.
It's understood the property will be expanded with vacant land being part of the transaction.
The popular management team and co-owners Bob and Margie Guthrie have left the resort and MBK Hospitality who's assets include the Sheraton Krabi, Pathumwan Princess, Loch Palm and Red Mountain Golf Courses, and Tindee Hotel in Phuket and Ranong are now covering operations.
