MBK Keeping Newly Acquired Lanta Resort Independent

According to an interview in leading industry publication Travel Trade Gazette (TTG), Thailand's publicly listed MBK Hospitality Group intend to manage the Layana Resort themselves.
There had been much speculation that an internally branded affiliation would be sought for the upscale 50 key property on Krabi's Koh Lanta island.
While MBK does have a management agreement for the Sheraton Krabi Resort with Starwood, it continues to operate the Pathumwan Princess and Phuket Tindee Resort amongst others by their own organization.
In the TTG Report the company is quoted that is look to brand more resorts under the Layana flag.
