Singapore Airlines upstart carrier Scoot is offering iPads on long haul flights in a move set to save fuel costs.
The move will save in incredible two tons of onboard entertainment equipment.
Unfortunately the move comes at a cost for economy passengers who will have to shell out USD17 dollars for content, which has been preloaded onto the iPads.
Business class travelers can avail of the service for free.
For many though the move signals the future where an increasing number of passengers bring their own entertainment with a smart phone or their own tablet device.
