New Andaman Seaplane Service

Category: Tourism, Posted:04 Feb 2011 | 06:00 am

India's Andaman and Nicobar islands have seen seaplane service launched as a joint venture between the government and a private enterprise.
Utilizing a single engine Cessna 208A Caravan which is fit out for 8 passengers, initial flights will travel between Port Blair and Havelock. Future expansion is expected cover areas in the north.
Greater Phuket and Phang Nga bay have had a number of starts and stops over the years on seaplane service with top billing going to the now defunct Destination Air.
As more resorts continue to be built in the bay and Phuket's hotel pipeline sprawls into Krabi and Koh Lanta expect more upstarts in the sector in the not so distant future.
