NORTHERN ECO LIGHT Chiang Mai Targets Clean Air and Waste Dispos

Another of Thailand's leading resort destinations Chiang Mai is addressing environmental concerns with its “Our Better Chiang Mai' (Chiang Mai Eiam in Thai) campaign. Air pollution is one of the major concerns with the local government now implementing larger parking areas where people can then take public transportation, buses, or bicycles.
As in Phuket waste disposal with a growing population, new hotels and businesses now entering into the market. Micro-organisms are being used in the klong network in order to improve water quality and a large scale water treatment plant is in the works.
Back of the Thai Health Foundation, and the local program, Thai PBS will run a reality show on the initiatives to gain more public awareness. Certainly sustainability is becoming not only a local effort here with our Keep Phuket Clean program but similar programs are sweeping across the nation.
