Pay It Down For Christmas
I'm the luckiest man in the world. Why not. I live in Phuket. I have a lovely wife, two daughters, three dogs and a house conveniently located near to my cafe latte local – Bake.
Simple pleasures are the best kind. But for all that our island has to offer, its all to easy to live a life less ordinary without looking at how to pay down our good fortune to be able to live, work and prosper here.
Today at Christmas time it's good to reflect not on things past but of those to come, and to put something back into the good karma wheel.
It mystifies when folks speak about having a lack of things to do here. Whether it's chipping into one of the many charitable foundations, helping our furry dog, cat or horse friends, cleaning up the beach, reading to orphans or finding a good caught and putting a dent in your back pocket. So be it, give. With your time, your generosity, money or any other way you please.
What's important in this very personal way of giving is, it doesn't need to be broadcast to friends or come in a press release. Do it simply because it's the right thing to do. And no two people come in the same size, color or shape.
The worse thing is to simply fall silent or put it off to another day. Why? Life's short, sweet, sour and unpredictable. Don't stay in the sideline for another yet. Come on, I know you can do it.
Merry Christmas, Phuket, you are my very favorite place in the entire world.
