Phuket Airport Arrivals Set To Top 7.4 Million

Arrivals at Phuket International Airport are set to eclipse a historic high 7.4 million passengers for the year 2016 according to forecasted figures by C9 Hotelworks.

As of the end of November this year AoT (Airports of Thailand) reported a year-to-date figure of 6,784,877 domestic and international passenger arrivals which is a 16% increase over the same period in the previous year.

Looking at all important airlift for the first eleven months of 2016, total domestic flight arrivals were up 20% y-o-y while the international sector grew by 12%, mainly due to traffic from China and Eastern Europe.

Looking at the month of December, in 2015 total passenger arrivals were 585,557, whereas taking historic trends, the 2016 figure is likely to rise to 664,607.
