Phuket Sandbox July Reopening Confirmed

Thailand’s leading resort destination Phuket’s big sleep looks set to end in July.

In an announcement by the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) a 1^st July Phuket opening has been confirmed.

The announcement notes the Phuket Sandbox plan of the TAT, has been approved by Thailand’s Center for Economic Situation Administration (CESA), that is chaired by the Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha.

There will be no quarantine for fully-vaccinated travelers who have tested negative for Covid-19.

In the coming days expect clarity on many issues including the who, what and where of the processes, and also specific issues for family travelers.

For now though, the Sandbox is getting nearer every day.
