Phuket Says Goodbye To Perth

As of the beginning of February next year Virgin Australia will cease flying direct between Perth and Phuket.
Ultimately the Western Australia city has not proven a broad enough market for airlift to the island.
In the past, Thai Airways International flew the route but has since discontinued service.
Phuket is not the only Asian resort destination affected, as Virgin Australia is also slashing flights between Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide and the Indonesian island of Bali.
Though in the case of the latter, Virgin's sister company Tigerair Australia will pick up the dropped flights and continue flying to Denpasar.
