Phuket's Able Architects Score Green Award
One of the island's top architecture firms Able Architects have won the BCI Asia Green Leadership Award.
The design for the island's Orang Laut sea gypsy cultural center was led by Able's Managing Director Pakhin Aunggulsant.
Eco features included tropical vernacular architecture, thermal efficient ventilation and green areas aimed at protecting sensitive native mangroves.
An innovative exterior building skin uses solar protective polycarbonate sheets which recover energy and is environmentally friendly.
Despite the accolates the project has been delayed in a curent political dispute and hopefully in the coming year the inspiring development will see the light of day.
