Phuket's First Luxury Hotel Sold

The island's first luxury hotel, the Royal Phuket Yacht Club on Nai Harn Beach has been sold to an overseas investor.
Opened in 1986 the property has been managed over the years by Hong Kong's Mandarin Oriental group and Starwood's Le Meridien.
With 110 rooms the hotel features some one of the island's most iconic west coast views.
Originally the Royal Phuket Yacht Club had been paired with a sister property in Koh Samui, Baan Taling Ngam which is now operated by the InterContinental Hotels group.
The transaction occurred in the private market.
