Regent Phuket Reflagged As Independent

Category: Hotels, Posted:13 Oct 2015 | 06:00 am

Phuket’s luxury Regent Cape Panwa has been renamed as the Amatara Resort & Wellness.

The once prolific Regent luxury brand has now be reduced to a handful of properties.

In Phuket the now former Regent started life as the Panwaburi and later affiliated to Hilton’s Conrad brand but was never opened during their tenure.

At Amatara the offering will now be highly focused on wellness including Thai and Turkish Hamam treatments.

General Manager Brice Borin has stayed on as property head.

On a broader scale the  global hospitality sector is closely looking at the possible transaction of the much vaunted Fairmont Raffles luxury brand stable.
