Richard Li's Thai Muang Development Forges Ahead

Since launching this blog one of the most frequently asked questions has been the status of Thai Muang by Hong Kong's Pacific Century Premium Developments. The Hong Kong Group acquired the 1000 rai plot together with its 18 hold golf course and since closing the facility has been the subject of much speculation. The site which couples spectacular beachfront land, inland waterways and relatively easy access to Phuket International Airport has been pegged by many to be the next Laguna type mixed use destination development.
I spoke in Phuket to the business development manager of one of the Thai companies that acquired the land who commented "the project is in its final stage of master planning for a mixed resort/residential layout. A par 72 golf course will be part of the project although said to be quite different and more challenging then the previous one. Adrian McCarroll of Original Vision is the lead consultant. Supported by a number of expert consultants, the planning is moving ahead and targeting submission to the authorities within this year."
