Samui Airlift Increases With New International Route

Thai resort destination Koh Samui will get a much needed "pick me up" with Bangkok Airways new daily direct flights to Kuala Lumpur.
Service commences to the Malaysian capital as of March 31st of this year.
Service into Samui has been effected during peak season after a Bangkok Airways ATR-72 reportedly drove off the airport apron on December 17th.
Since that time the loss of the aircraft has apparently caused system wide delays that have caused concern by many of Samui's hoteliers. The knock on effect of the timing issues is the impact to passengers connecting to long haul destinations in Bangkok.
Other news from the island has Tina Liu appointed as General Manager of the Le Meriden Resort and Spa in Lamai.
She was formerly Hotel Manager of the Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok.
