Airlift remains a defining demand driver for tourism and the other Thai resort island of Samui has prospered despite concerns over its limitation over flight capacity.
You can almost call it a blessing in disguise that the island's investment sentiment has remained somewhat muted due to this characteristic and the islands hotel supply and demand remains highly stable.
Based in first half figures for 2015, Samui has posted strong gains in midscale, upscale and luxury hotels in both rate and occupancy.
