Singapore Mid Year Tourism Figures Down

Now in Singapore thephuketinsider.com is updating market trends, which have clocked in an 11.5% decline in tourist arrivals for the first half of 2009 versus the same period last year. This represents 4.5 million visitors to the island state. Year-end forecasts are calling for an annualized figure of 9.5 million.
At the same time Singapore Airlines has registered a loss for Q2 and is the first loss in over six year since the SARS crises. Airlift has now been reduced by 11%; while the airline continues to be the second largest carrier in the world.
