Starwood Signs Two New Phuket Hotels
Global hospitality giant Starwood has signed management agreements for an Aloft and Four Points by Sheraton in the booming Patong hotel district.
The properties will be located within the 78 rai Fisherman’s Harbour mixed use hotel, residential and commercial development at the southern end of town on Prachanukrao Road.
The 300 room Aloft Phuket Patong is set to open in July 2014, and 290 room Four Points by Sheraton Phuket, Patong by January 2014.
The design based Aloft brand is making a strong presence in Asia as the bold, modern urban-styled underling of W Hotels. A new Aloft will open shortly in Bangkok’s trendy Sukhumvit Soi 11 neighborhood near to fashionable bed supperclub and the Q Bar.
Phuket based developer Withaya Taweeswonsap who owns the Patong OTOP market amongst other business interests is leading the project with a master plan by Design 103 International.
The design firm’s past hotel projects have included Le Meridien Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Holiday Inn Pattaya and a number of ibis properties. Advisory services have been provided by CBRE Thailand.
Patong is currently at the epicenter of the island hotel development boom with a number of new branded properties expected to be announced in the coming months.
