Swiss-Belhotel Group Eying Phuket

Category: Hotels, Posted:04 May 2009 | 09:49 am

Over the weekend I had the chance to sit down with Gavin Faull Chairman and President of Hong Kong based management group Swiss-Belhotel. The chain currently has 51 properties operating and under development in the Asia Pacific and Middle East, and remains one of the fastest growing chains in the region.
Gavin commented that "Phuket remains one of the key 'must be in' destination' and demand continues to be high for product here. His group is eying opportunities both here and in Bangkok for expansion." In spite of the economic crises, hotel owners look to chains in challenging time to outperform what they might achieve if running on their own.
This mirrors a conversation with Kevin Beauvais from Thailand based InVision Hospitality another group keying into developments in Greater Phuket and who already manage the well regarded luxury Zeavola Resort Phi Phi island.
