Thai Air Asia Taps Into Next Great Destination

Thai Air Asia have announced the start of flights between Bangkok and Colombo, Sri Lanka as of the beginning of March.
Currently Thai Airways and Sri Lankan fly this sector, though the AirAsia scheduling of daytime flights looks to be a competitive advantage compared to the current offering of overnight service.
Tourism in Thailand looks to be a benefactor as well as Sri Lanka given that the country is an attractive destination for those looking to holiday out of South Asia.
Holiday travel for Sri Lankans to nearby India and the Maldives tends to be extremely expensive with high room rates, but given Thailand's abundance of affordable quality hotel rooms, the destination is a the top of shoppers lists.
