Mounting pressure from increased competition by low cost carriers has seen Thai Airways International decrease domestic airfares thought March of next year.
A 'Smile Thailand' promotion has seen the carrier shorten the gap between key players AirAsia and Bangkok Airways.
This year's steep price hike had driven many passengers into the arms of the budget airlines. The national carrier now hopes to re-attract lost customers.
While conditions apply similar to the LCC's (low cost carriers), in general the savings are significant for regular passengers who ply the Phuket to Bangkok route.
