One of the Thailand's leading examples of the new age of sustainable living is the CASE project – Community Architects for Shelter and Environment founded in 1997.
Architect Patama Roonrakwit has been a passionate spokesperson for the concept of improving rural life using sustainable methods.
Key elements include the recycling of garbage into building materials and regeneration of discarded or non used items to provide long term shelter and homes.
