ThePhuketInsider Says Goodbye

Category: Real estate, Posted:05 Oct 2015 | 06:00 am

Today is the day that I've decided ThePhuketInsider news blog shall end.
All good things, bad things or even the mundane everyday things in life eventually run their course, and the worst thing is to outstay your welcome and end up jumping the shark.
For over six years now, since starting the blog as a reaction to the global financial downturn and a series of high impact political crisis in Thailand, I've spend more time than I can count putting out a Phuket-focused newline covering hotels, tourism and property.
Have I deviated from my intended content? You bet, but to me the often sideways ventures have always been intended to be unique and a look something, or someplace different.
Phuket is graced with many quality news outlets and like it or not, I read or watch them all. From my earliest property columns at the Phuket Gazette edited by Alasdair Forbes, to the unwavering support of John Magee over the years, Alan Morrison of PhuketWan who continues to fight the good fight. The PhuketNews Tim Newton, Window on Phuket, Miguel Kirjon's slick Bikinis and Martinis and the penultimate real estate glossy Property Report, there is indeed something for all to read, comment and learn, or for the haters, to shed some angst about.
Moving forward I do clearly understand two features of ThePhuketInsider that shall remain, these being our news blast which are Phuket focused and C9 Hotelworks market research reports. These will continue on a dedicated section of our revamped www.C9Hotelworks.com website. We will host all archived news stories on that site as well so if you need to find an old story, that's the place to go. Readers who has subscribed to ThePhuketInsider will continue to receive blasts via C9 and have the option to opt if should they wish. My newspaper and magazine columns will also be hosted on C9.
I'd like to thank my readers for six years and a few scattered days here and there for spending time with ThePhuketInsider, it's been my honor to have you here. Is this the end, or is it just another new beginning? I'll let you decide that.
