Two Steps Away From Test & Gone

Category: Hotels|Tourism, Posted:20 Feb 2022 | 10:49 am

According to the latest news reports, the Thai government’s CCSA authority will evaluate a proposal by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism to remove the current second PCR test requirement and replace it with just an ATK test.

This will be tabled at the upcoming CCSA meeting on Wednesday 23rd February and could be implemented by the beginning of March.

As for the fate of the beleaguered Test & Go policy, this will only be removed once COVID-19 is classified endemic. Hence, it’s likely to be removed in two stages.

There is mounting criticism over the current quarantine regime in the country, and the negative impact on tourism. While much of Asia is now rapidly moving towards quarantine-free international travel, Thailand is struggling to regain momentum in a broader reopening process.
