U-Tapao Raising Airlift In Battle For Masses

Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard is increasingly become a key competitor for Phuket’s mass tourism market.

It’s all about airlift and the re-development of U-Tapao is seeing a massive level of interest from low-cost airlines and Chinese carriers.

Currently AirAsia has embraced Greater Pattaya and new operators showing interest in servicing the airport reportedly include China Southern Airlines.

For Phuket the competitive landscape is expected to gain momentum both from a rising hotel supply and other Thai destinations.
