Uber Arrives in Phuket

Global ridesharing service Uber has kicked off operations in Phuket.
For those not familiar with the platform the concept enables Smartphone users to located a nearby vehicle and arrange a pick up.
Currently Uber is operating in 100 cities, in 45 countries including Bangkok.
Non-cash payments are made via an Uber online system.
In Phuket the base fee is THB140 plus THB2.50 a minute/THB20 per kilometer.
There is also a flat rate offer for anywhere on the island of THB950.
