With close to 50,000 rooms and over 600 hotels the United Kingdom's Premier Inn brand is already a key player in the economy sector.
Recently the group opened a development office in Singapore to drive expansion into Asia Pacific. Headed up the operation is Erik van Keulen who has had stints with consulting firm HVS and Lehmans.
The group has two other regional offices in India and Dubai to focus on those catchment areas.
Budget and economy hotels are currently the hot topic in Asia on the heels of a rising middle class travel boom and skyrocketing low-cost airline sector.
