Unlikely Dive Tour Alliance East Vs. West

I’ve just finished reading a story in the Bangkok Post about the emerging dive alliance between Ranong (north of Phuket) and Chumphon.

It seems dive operators are creating a year-round band between the two given Ranong on the Andaman Sea and Chumphon in the Gulf of Thailand have opposite seasons.

While the former boasts high traffic between December to March, the latter is April to October when the seas calm.

Ranong and in fact Phang Nga remains a logical logistical point for the Burma Banks and diving into Southern Myanmar.

Mu Ko Chumnphon National Park is increasingly coming onto the outdoor travelers radar.
