Upstart Kokotel Hotels Take Aim At Phuket

Thailand’s emerging hotel brand Kokotel is quickly expanding their footprint across the country.

Focusing on the economy tier, the group is keyed into a bed and café concept.

Currently in Phuket the group manages the 54-key Kokotel Patong.

In the island pipeline are Kokotel-branded properties in Phuket Town (49 keys) and Nai Yang (58-rooms). Both will open in 2020.

On a country-wide basis in Thailand Kokotel has 8 operating properties including Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Krabi, with another 4 under construction.

Aside from domestic expansion the group that was founded by Rei Matsuda is in talks in other Southeast Asian markets.
