Will Google Hotel Finder Revolutionize Internet Bookings?
The recent beta roll out by web giant Google of their Hotel Finder search engine has caused a ripple effect in hospitality circles.
Still in what is described as early stages with an initial focus on the US, the technology is similar to Google Maps with the user pointing to dots and get specific info.
Taking it a step further is the engines capacity to view rates and draw a comparison on historical averages.
Needless to say hotel chains are already tapping into the development and online travel agents (OTA's) are seeing how to leverage their systems given that direct bookings are not made available to browsers.
Instead the user click's through to hotel websites, and other online providers. Keep an eye out for Hotel Finder to see if it's the next big thing or a flash in the pan.
