Chiang Mai Chases Phuket Private Jet Terminal

Category: Tourism, Posted:21 Mar 2011 | 06:00 am

The northern tourism capital of Thailand Chiang Mai has jumped on the private jet terminal as AoT (Airports of Thailand) is reviewing plans for both international airports.
A bid for Phuket on a build and operate basis is expected to be circulated in the second quarter of the year and awarded by year end.
The Bangkok Post reported AoT has estimated the island facility would cost a minimum of THB100 million and have 1,000 square meters as a footprint though could be doubled with an additional story.
It appears there is private sector interest already in Chiang Mai so it looks that both destinations could have terminals in the short to medium term.
